Debate. Do I buy tractor or horse or both? Horse: 8k, feed, fence, barn door, saddle, harness, daily care, implements: disc, plow, manure spreader. Tractor: 8k, implements: rototill, potato digger, disc. Which one would I be better friends with?
Ryan Foxley --
0 starting 4 acre farm, buy a tractor? start with 1 horses?
1 1 week internship enough with weekly horse ride/feed/groom/pony club book?
2 is it feasible to use horse power on my four 4 acres this coming year?
3 must have two horses?
4 land recently tilled, planted with oat, where buy harness, disc, (single bottom?) plow
4.5 cultivator for rows?
5 manual seeder?
6 cows for fertilizer in garden?
7 1 horse feeds itself on 1 acre?
8 buying hay
9 what do you do to emulate a tractor rototiller i n your gardens?
10 relationship with horse versus donkey versus mule versus tractor

4
4.5 yes
5 earthway seed drill, planet junior seed drill, horse drawn
6 use horse manure -- barn setup, 8hours out of day in winter,
out all night in summer, day time in stall ready for go. overgraze = bad, weeds grow, etc.
10 mules = okay, different work animal, broke team of belgin/suffolk-punch $6k 4,5 year team, don't buy untrained team
beginner = horses forgive therefore use them not mule
mule wont forget, smarter
donkey = no no stuborn, for gold rush miners, a bread of their own
tooth harrow
