updated crop layout

It is too wet at the west end of the acre so I will plant the sweet corn and popcorn where I farmed last year. I was trying to switch off every other year using extra land. Cover cropping leaves residue that is allopathic, which means it has naturally occurring chemicals that inhibit germination of seedlings. However with drainage issues I don't have the space.

I think I will plant two rows of each of the four types of potatoes with the corn moved. Tim at Ralph's Greenhouse is still selling organic potato tubers by the 50lb bag. I will also have extra tubers you could buy... Potatoes are RAD.

Carolyn and I are growing experimental Jerusalem artichokes we got from the co-op in the community garden. I hear they are like a weed but I imagine myself flexing my tiller muscles to kill them as needed. Dona Flora seems to have the best Jerusalem artichokes around but she was out by the time we were interested.

Stop by this season and help; I will repay you in eggs and produce.
