Uprising Organics,
It is my understanding that you have a partial food stamp CSA. I just purchased 5 acres of land on Chuckanut drive and am looking to start -small- with a five person CSA, a few friends, maybe one or two families on food stamps. I have interned at MotherFlight Farm, Riversong Farm, and took the Wazzu small farm class this past year. I have read a little about using food stamps:
use a food stand approach
plan to have less upfront cash flow
have a machine to swipe the food stamp debit card
Do you have time to help me navigate the paperwork and equipment I would need to get started? I would love to to exchange help for labor if you have any winter preparations left?
I also have an opportunity to have some latino friends of mine use an acre of my land, water, etc. for free. Do you ever share your land? Pros/cons?
I hope the best for you all!,
Aaron Luke
