started onion transplants the first week of january
used organic medium weight potting soil with less peet
also start cabbage family early
one planting of onions per season
six mass flats (2 copra, 2 redwing, 2 wallawalla)
copra and redwing are storage onions
storage onions are harder and dry better so the insides are protected
three types of onions: scallions (non bulbing), green onions (thin some of the six flat planting), and onion onions
the artichokes are up (individual flat), to replace the ones lost in the winter
long term goal

first year full time engineering for pe
same time buy land start farm, plant orchard, give produce to friends
second year part time engineering, sell at farmers market
sell at farmers market for a total of three years
start 20 person csa with engineering part time
(possibly larger csa if an intentional community is started as well)
(life isn't really linear
)but it is finite
(stay on one line
)versus take detours, live life fully at each stage
