Hi Carolyn and Aaron,

The reason that OMRI advises as such is that these products contain
micronutrients. National Organic Standards 205.601 (list of synthetic
substances allowed for use in organic production) states in section J
that as plant or soil amendments, (6) micronutrients are allowed (except
as defoliant, herbicides or desiccants) in cases where a soil deficiency
is documented by testing. Without a deficiency noted, the use of
synthetic micronutrients is not allowed.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,

Subject: Use of Symbex/Symbooster

Hi Michael - I'm interning with Aaron Luke on Aslan's How Organics in
Bow, WA. (Producer #2509)

Our soil fertility expert recommended that we apply Symbex4X and
Symbooster10X, an Agro-K synthetic microbial product which is OMRI
listed. OMRI advises that use should be restricted to cases where there
is a soil deficiency. Our microbial counts were about in the middle
range, rater than being deficient, however we were hoping to boost our
microbial count as part of our long term soil fertility plan. Can you
advise how best to proceed?

Thanks so much for your help!

Carolyn Goodrich & Aaron Luke
